Charity World Premiere of "A BOND FOR LIFE" raises 2.500 Euros for UNICEF

Fellow Agent of 007 Travelers:
Benjamin Lind
benjaminlind@thebondbulletin.de

World premiere of the first ever James Bond fan documentary raises 2.500 Euro for UNICEF aid operation in Syria.

After a 17 month filming period, the glamorous world premiere of the world’s first James
Bond fan documentary in support of UNICEF took place in Braunschweig, Germany, on 12
March 2016.

The 124 minute film of hobby-director Benjamin Lind, entitled "A Bond For Life – How James Bond changed my Life“, had been conceived as a charity project since the beginning of filming. With his work, Lind didn’t want to earn money but make a significant contribution to UNICEF aid operations. Together with the UNICEF work group Braunschweig and its directress Birgit-Gabriela Pordzik, Lind decided to donate the proceeds from ticket sales and additional donations to the UNICEF aid operation in Syria.

Joined on stage by Bond-expert and author Danny Morgenstern, Lind presented his film in
front of 88 guests in the C1 Cinema Braunschweig on 12 March 2016. He made clear, how
UNICEF provides help on the ground in Syria and how the donations will be used. Before the film screening, the auction of a magazine signed by the cast & crew of the latest Bond film "Spectre“ generated an additional 350,00 Euros within just two minutes. The net proceeds from ticket sales, which included a limited amount of VIP tickets for 25.00 Euros, amounted to a total of 1715.00 Euro.

VIP ticket holders had the pleasure to attend the exclusive After-Show-Party where they
enjoyed an extravagant buffet, complimentary drinks as well as a look Behind the Scenes of
the part autobiographical James Bond documentary. For a 2.00 Euro donation, director
Benjamin Lind signed specially designed postcards with the poster of his film. The UNICEF
donation box, of which guests made ample use, was always by his side and generated a total of 435.00 Euro. A second autograph auction brought in another 100.00 Euros. The
glamorous party lasted to the small hours.

After counting of the total proceeds from ticket sales and the donation box, the resulting
final sum of 2.500 Euros was personally forwarded to the UNICEF work group Braunschweig by director Benjamin Lind.

As the first of its kind, the non-commercial charity James Bond Fan-documentary “A
Bond For Life“ portrays the devoted fan-love of director Benjamin Lind that began
almost exactly twenty years ago. When he saw his first Bond film “GoldenEye“ in
cinema in 1996, it was love at first sight. From then on, the films accompanied him
through difficult and challenging years. When the sudden cancer death of his mother
turned his world upside down in 1997, it was the fictional novel- and screen hero
James Bond who gave him stability and a fantasy world to escape to. Being
increasingly confronted with the serious side of life, Lind saw himself tasked with the
challenge of balancing fantasy world and reality. With this combination, “A Bond For
Life“ is equally autobiography as well as journey through the exciting James Bond
fandom.

“A Bond For Life“ is dedicated to Barbara Broccoli & Michael G. Wilson, the
producers of the James Bond films. Since 1995, they both control the fate of the
family business EON Productions Ltd. in London as well as that of the James Bond
franchise, which has become the longest-running film series in the history of cinema
with a total of 24 films.

UNICEF
Aside from the cinematic idea, another heartfelt wish became the focus for director
Benjamin Lind: the final film should benefit a charitable cause. Together with
UNICEF, the internationally operating United Nations Children's Fund whose line of ambassadors also include former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, Lind was now
able to realize this wish. “We, who live in rich economic nations and don ́t have to
give much thought to where our next meal is coming from, have so much and give so
little”, says Lind. “Millions of children die every year as a result of malnutrition. The
co-operation with UNICEF enables me to do my bit with my film project and support
vital aid operations.“

A number of famous guest stars have kindly agreed to being part of this documentary

SYNOPSIS
The non-commercial Fan Documentary 'A Bond for Life' retraces the past 20 years in the life of a James Bond fan - from being exposed to Bond for the first time in 1996 until the world premiere of "SPECTRE" in 2015. Partly filmed on original Bond locations across Europe, the film takes viewers on a colourful journey through difficult and challenging times of the narrator.

Beside Bond experts and fans from across the globe, Special Guest Stars such as film
composer David Arnold, actresses Nikki van der Zyl, Luciana Paluzzi and Martine Beswick as well as Lyricist and Academy Award Winner Don Black, Production Designer and Academy Award Winner Sir Ken Adam and actors Mads Mikkelsen and Götz Otto share their experiences with James Bond.

The aim is to deliver an entertaining Fan-Documentary with an important message: That you
can achieve a lot when you believe in yourself and learn to stand on your own two feet.
Another reason is the possibility, to reach a significant amount of donations for UNICEF on a European level and thereby help where help is urgently needed.

About the film project
Filming for the documentary began in April 2014 and finished in September 2015 with
additional shots remaining to be filmed at the World Premiere of ‘SPECTRE’ on October 26th. A total of 135 individual filming locations in seven countries have been used, resulting in over 40 hours of material from which the final film is assembled. A total of 10 guest stars
from the James Bond family as well as many Bond fans have contributed interviews.
The original soundtrack, including the title theme, will be delivered by Swiss composer
Yannick Zenhäusern.
