007 Food: A pint of Jack Daniels and a double portion of eggs Benedict

Food: A pint of Jack Daniels and a double portion of eggs Benedict
Bond book appearance: You Only Live Twice (1964)
Experience of 007 Travelers: Self-made

"To Bond's unspeakable relief, they put up that night at the smartest hotel in Kyoto, the Miyako. The comfortable bed, air-conditioning and Western-style lavatory on which one could actually sit were out of this world. Better still, Tiger said that unfortunately he had to dine with the Chief of Police of the prefecture and Bond ordered a pint of Jack Daniels and a double portion of eggs Benedict to be brought up to his room. Then, from the belated sense of duty, he watched "The Seven Detectives", a famous Japanese television series, failed to spot the villain, and went to bed and slept for twelve hours."

Ian Fleming: "You Only Live Twice" (1964)

Eggs Benedict is a traditional American brunch or breakfast dish that consists of two halves of an English muffin each of which is topped with Canadian bacon – or sometimes bacon – a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce. The dish was first popularized in New York City. Many variations on the basic recipe are served.

Jack Daniel's is a brand of Tennessee whiskey and the top selling American whiskey in the world. It is produced in Lynchburg, Tennessee, by the Jack Daniel Distillery, which has been owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation since 1956. Despite being the location of a major operational distillery, Jack Daniel's home county of Moore is a dry county, so the product is not available for purchase at stores or restaurants within the county.

007 Travelers met Bond star Jeremy Bulloch

007 Travelers had an honour to meet Jeremy Bulloch, who's Bond career started already in 1977, when he appeared in "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977) as HMS Ranger Crewman.

We had a chance to chat with him in Star Wars event Hoth-Con 2016 in Helsinki, Finland.
Mr. Bulloch told 007 Travelers that producers wanted him to come back to Bond series some years later and he got the part of Smithers, who is Q's (Desmond Llewelyn) assistant. Bulloch played the part twice in "For Your Eyes Only" (1981) and in "Octopussy" (1983).

Mr. Bulloch said that he is a huge Bond fan himself and Roger Moore was a wonderful actor to work with and was a true gentleman and funny all the time when they filmed Bond films. He also told us that this was his first time in Finland and he had enjoyed every moment and everyone had been really nice to him and his wife, who was also with him in the event. Mr. Bulloch was really interested to hear that 007 Travelers visits James Bond filming locations around the world and said that he will check our blog. He put his autograph on Star Wars photos, but for us, on 007 photos.

Of course Jeremy Bulloch's most famous role in films is a role of Boba Fett in Star Wars movies "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" (1983).

There was a "Questions and Answers" part at the end of event's day one and Bulloch told that Boba Fett did not die in "Return of the Jedi", he believes that there will be a Boba Fett movie coming in the future and if George Lucas would ask would he like to play Boba Fett again, he would definitely do it.

During the day, Cosplay competition was also held and someone asked, which character Mr. Bulloch would play in that kind of competition, and he said "Jabba the Hut" or "Princess Leia" and audience laughed to this funny answer.

He also told the audience that he has Boba Fett props at home and his grandchildren are interested in them and he always tells them to be careful with them. He talked a lot about acting and after one question he started to cry and that surprised the audience until he said: "This was acting". He got us all there!

He is such a great person and we are very happy that we met him!

Pierce Brosnan, Nicky Hilton And More Celebrate the Alice + Olivia x Basquiat CFDA Collection

Jean-Michel Basquiat ruled downtown New York during the ‘80s, and on Wednesday evening (2 November 2016) the Neo-expressionist artist made his triumphant return as alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet celebrated its new capsule collection featuring Basquiat’s work. Made in partnership with the Basquiat Estate, sales from the collection will benefit the CFDA Foundation Inc.

The crowd included bold-named creatives from the worlds of art, fashion, music and film — the same sorts of people who surrounded Basquiat as he made work from his Bond Street studio by day while partying at places like Danceteria and Area. Victoria Justice, Nina Agdal, Pierce Brosnan, Nicky Hilton, Princess Beatrice of York, Doreen Remen, Jeanette Hayes and Salman Rushdie were among those who showed up at downtown gallery The Hole to celebrate the collection’s debut with Bendet, who was wearing a maxi dress adorned with ruffled tiers and Basquiat’s work.

In Memoriam: James Bond stuntman Steve Truglia

Sad news:

James Bond stuntman and SAS hero Steve Truglia, 54, killed in abseil race after plunging from a helicopter in China. He fell 300ft in China during a helicopter stunt, but
authorities there are refusing to release further details.

007 Travelers is sorry to hear about his death.

Steve Truglia

According to the source:

"Pals said Steve, who has been in a string of blockbusters including "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997), and another daredevil were meant to be abseiling from the chopper at the same time. But he had expressed fears it would be too small to take their weight hours before he died. Ropes were also left out overnight in heavy rain making them potentially unsafe for the event, held up by bad weather in Chongqing, south west China. Steve, who served in the SAS and SBS for 20 years, posted “Let’s do this” on his Facebook page as he boarded the chopper for the fateful stunt on Thursday."

"Ex-military colleague and friend Phil Tunnicliffe said: “We have not been able to find out much about what happened. The Chinese company he was working for are trying to keep things under wraps.
“He had meant to be attempting the stunt on Tuesday above the Wulong National park but it had been put off until Thursday because of heavy mist and fog.
“All we have been told is that there was a fall, but that does not make sense to us. Steve was a professional stunt man and had done these types of abseils many times.’’
His girlfriend was informed of his death in a garbled text from a Chinese woman."

007 Item: Élixir Shampoo Quinine Pinaud

007 Item: Élixir Shampoo Quinine Pinaud

"His two battered suitcases came and he unpacked leisurely and then ordered from Room Service a bottle of the Taittinger Blanc de Blancs that he had made his traditional drink at Royale. When the bottle, in its frosted silver bucket, came, he drank a quarter of it rather fast and then went into the bathroom and had an ice-cold shower and washed his hair with Pinaud Elixir, that prince among shampoos, to get the dust of the roads out of it."
Ian Fleming: "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1963)
