Happy New Year 2018!

Drink: Ten years old Bollinger Champagne
Bond movie appearance:  A View to a Kill (1985)
Experience of 007 Travelers: @ home

James Bond (Roger Moore) drinks ten years old Bollinger 1975 in "A View to a Kill" (1985) movie. We drank Bollinger 2007 in year 2017.

Bollinger (French pronunciation: [bɔ.lɛ̃.ʒe]) is a Champagne house, a producer of sparkling wines from the Champagne region of France. They produce several labels of Champagne under the Bollinger name, including the vintage Vieilles Vignes Françaises, Grande Année and R.D. as well as the non-vintage Special Cuvée. Founded in 1829 in Aÿ by Hennequin de Villermont, Paul Renaudin and Jacques Bollinger the house continues to be run by members of the Bollinger family. In Britain Bollinger Champagnes are affectionately known as "Bolly". (Wikipedia)

In Memoriam: Joe Powell

Joe Powell (21 March 1922 - 30 June 2016) has passed away.

Joe Powell, who has died aged 94, was known as the “daddy of British stuntmen” for the gut-wrenchingly high-risk feats he performed in classic adventure films such as "Where Eagles Dare" and "The Guns of Navarone".

For "The Man Who Would Be King", John Huston’s adaptation of a Rudyard Kipling story filmed in the Atlas mountains, Powell, doubling for Sean Connery, had to plunge 100 ft from a collapsed rope bridge into a perilous ravine: if he had missed the target area covered with boxes to cushion his fall, he would have plummeted a further 2,000 ft. The co-star Michael Caine walked away saying: “I’m not going to watch this one.” Huston was delighted, saying it was “the darnedest stunt I ever saw”.

Experience of 007 Travelers: @ home

Stolichnaya (Russian: Столичная, also known as Stoli) is a vodka made of wheat and rye grain. A well-known Soviet brand, the ownership of Stolichnaya is disputed since the fall of the Soviet Union between Russian state-owned company FKP Sojuzplodoimport and SPI Group, a private company chartered in Luxembourg, founded and owned by Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, that distributes a wide variety of Russian spirits, having purchased a number of former Soviet brands and operations. While FKP produces in Kaliningrad, Russia (for the Russian market and the Benelux market), SPI Group distributes and produces from Latvia.
