Casa Lucio remains in the location that once was home to the hundred-year old Mesón El Segoviano, a magnificent restaurant where Lucio Blázquez began to work at the age of 12.

Lucio Blázquez was born in Serranillos (Avila), on 12th February 1933. When he turned 12 he came with his father to Madrid and began working at the “Meson del Segoviano” with the owner, Dona Petra, who loved him like a son. She was who, many years later, would sell the restaurant to Lucio. Already then, at such a young age, his skills with people were noticeable; he showed his interest in the work, and he also transmitted his joy to customers, who already gave him good tips. Many of those customers were students by then, but they’re now important figures in the social life of the country, regulars of Casa Lucio, and friends at the same time.


007 Travelers met Mr. Lucio who is a true legend. He gave us his autograph and we took a photo with him.

We had wonderful lunch which included chicken "Pollo Ajillo 1/2" and meat balls "Albondigas" with red wine "Copa Vino" and desserts ice cream "Helado Variado". 

Restaurant staff were really helpful and friendly and showed us the table where Mr. Brosnan ate years ago and also showed us Bollinger bottle with 007 logo

Sobrino de Botín founded in 1725 is the oldest restaurant continuously operating in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records. The artist Francisco de Goya worked in Cafe Botin as a waiter while waiting to get accepted into the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The restaurant is mentioned in an Ernest Hemingway novel and the book Fortunata y Jacinta by Benito Pérez Galdós (published 1886-1887).

Pierce Brosnan ate there with his mother while visiting Madrid back in 2016. 007 Travelers followed Mr. Brosnan's footsteps and dined here also. Pirita ate "Salmón Ahumado", Mika ate Veal escalope "Escalope de Ternera". We drank a half bottle of red wine (Vino Tinto de la Casa) and Agua Mineral, and we had also desserts "Tarta Botin" and "Crema Catalana". This is the restaurant that can be highly recommended to all who are searching wonderful food in Madrid. The staff is really friendly and dinner was just perfect!

007 Travelers really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was wonderful and the service was very good. We got a taste of the chef's special portion and it was such a nice surprise. The whole staff was also very child-friendly. We recommend this for everyone!

With its relaxing yet elegant atmosphere on the banks of the River Rhône, Café Calla features a 120-seat dining room, a shaded Parisian-style terrace and an exclusive 10-seat Chef’s Table, all complemented by a walk-in 1500-bottle wine cellar.

"They sat in the restaurant of the Hôtel du Rhône, among the white napery, glittering silverware, lights glinting off the crystal glasses, the bar pianist playing old romantic standards. Beatrice wore a simple cocktail dress, dark blue with a plunging neckline, bare back and a strand of what looked like diamonds at her throat. Around them, money and rank occupied the other tables: mostly retired money. The couples looked socially very acceptable, and Bond thought of M’s old comment on Switzerland – “Berne is about politics,” he would say. “Zurich concerns itself with money; but Geneva has its faded social circle. If you want to hobnob with Swiss residents who keep their money in Zurich and their pretensions intact, then join the dying breed of Geneva.”

The restaurant Trattoria Giannino

A historic restaurant, running over for a century, from the classical elegance to the pleasant balance of light and dark tones with elements such as paintings, copper pots and bottles on the entire wall.

The kitchen offers a choice of classic regional dishes, plus some carefully chosen dishes.

The wine list focuses on central and northern part of the land, but does not forget south either. The restaurant is popular with celebrities and athletes and especially beloved by Milan players and executives.

007 Travelers likes this restaurant, food is excellent and the staff is very friendly!

Marco and Mika ate ossobucco like 007 did in this John Pearson's book in Giannino. 

Ossobuco is a Milanese speciality of cross-cut veal shanks braised with vegetables, white wine and broth. It is often garnished with gremolata and traditionally served with risotto alla milanese.

Ossobuco or osso buco is Italian for "bone with a hole" (osso bone, buco hole), a reference to the marrow hole at the centre of the cross-cut veal shank

Marco is awesome and also our good friend. It was nice to meet him in wonderful Milan!

"Bond offered her dinner in one of the finest restaurants in Italy - Giannino, by Via Sciesa. They ate artichoke and osso buco alla milanese - and Bond spent a night with her. After grappa and gorgonzola it felt like a perfect ending for a perfect evening."

This café is just opposite the Central Station and is decorated with 007 style. The decoration is visible at least during the time of "Designing 007 - 50 Years of Bond Style Exhibition" (12 October 2014 - 8 February 2015).

You can find Sean Connery with his Aston Martin DB5 on one wall. ("Goldfinger", 1964)

Inside the Café there is Citroën 2CV, which can also be seen in Roger Moore's Bond film "For Your Eyes Only" (1981).

007 Travelers had Colombo Poulet ("Caribbean" chicken colombo, served with fragrant rice and roasted plaintain) and Thick-cut salmot fillet with a lemon sauce, served with french fries and sautéed vegetables for the little Agent Traveler. Main food was very tasty and so were the desserts: Vanilla Island Crème Brûlée with Caramel Flambé  & Coconut mousse
served with vanilla biscuit and pineapple tartare.

"Early in the evening, he ate a pleasant salmon steak at the Blue Lagoon Restaurant, under what appeared to be a tropical night sky, with the sound of surf on the beaches. The lagoon itself was visible from where he sat, and every few minutes the boats full of visitors drifted past on their way to the adventure of the Pirates of the Caribbean which, he decided, would be his next experience."

Waiters circulated the room with plates of canapës as members of the audience mingled. The models joined the crowd a few moments later."

007 Restaurant: Brasserie Terminus Nord

This delightful combination of Art Nouveau and Art Déco is a mere stone's throw from the Gare du Nord train station. Since 1925, the traditional brasserie has been extending a gourmet welcome to Parisian travelers. Businessmen heading off to London, European Parliament members returning from Brussels, families visiting from the provinces... everyone's paths cross at Terminus Nord, the most animated of the great Parisian brasseries.

Bond stays in hotel Terminus Nord in Ian Fleming's short story "From a View to a Kill". In John Gardner's "Death Is Forever" he says that Terminus Nord's restaurant is one of his favourite restaurants in Paris.

"Of all the railway stations in Europe, Bond liked the Gare du Nord best. The place held special memories for him. It was also within walking distance of one of his favourite restaurants in Paris - Terminus Nord.

Bistros and restaurants hovering in the shadow of any great railway terminus should normally be avoided. Inevitably their clientele consists of birds of passage, people leaving and arriving at the station. So it follows that the service is perfunctory, at best; at worst, slapdash; while the food is only passable. Happily Terminus Nord, directly opposite the Gare du Nord, is a prestigious exception. Its service is impeccable, while the food attracts gourmets who are not merely passing through the French capital or using the railway station."
