After driving from beautiful Maccagno to great Milan, we returned the car to Europcar Milan Via Galvani, Via Luigi Galvani 12, and checked in to our four star hotel:

We got room number 321 and it was just brilliant!
We had cheese burgers and Club sandwich for lunch at hotel´s bar and lots of Fanta and juice since it was a really hot day!
The hotel´s lobby is nicely decorated.
Also the hotel´s yard is comfortable.

After getting some rest we took a taxi to city centre, it was 23,50 EUR. We visited in front of Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral), it was amazing! It is located at Via dell'Arcivescovado 1, at Piazza di Duomo.
It is also a Bond book location in John Gardner´s book "Never Send Flowers" (1993). All quotes in this travel story are from that book.
"They reached the Duomo at twelve minutes past four, when the light had begun to take on a wonderful filtered reddish glow. It was, they heard a passing guide remark, the best time to visit the Cathedral.
The Duomo, Milan's great cathedral, is one of the wonders of Europe. It dominates the city, colossal in size, yet somehow almost ethereal, with its statues, belfries, pinnacles and gables; a monster cake built in white marble to the glory of God, standing at the far end of an imposing esplanade.
Fredericka went up by the elevator, while Bond took the stairs. Both were conscious that Dragonpol, with ease, could be waiting for them, or even lurking on that hard spiral climb.
When Bond reached the top, he saw Fredericka viewing the exit points from the far side of the roof.
Above them towered the famous Tiburio, the central tower, dominated by the statue of the Blessed Virgin.
It was almost four-twenty-five and, following a quick conference, they spread out to right and left so that they both had clear views of the stairs and elevator cage: relatively safe in the knowledge that even Dragonpol could not look in two directions at once."
Next to Duomo di Milano is The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is one of the world's oldest shopping malls. Housed within a four-story double arcadein central Milan, the Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It was designed in 1861 and built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.

The Galleria is often nicknamed il salotto di Milano (Milan's drawing room), due to its numerous shops and importance as a common Milanese meeting and dining place.
We visited also Cafe Restaurant & Pizza: Galleria and we can recommend the place for everyone. The service is good and very friendly! It is located at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, 75. We had good pizza and calzone.

As of 2013, the arcade principally contains luxury retailers selling haute couture, jewelry, books and paintings, as well as restaurants, cafés, and bars. The Galleria is famous for being home to some of the oldest shops and restaurants in Milan, such as Biffi Caffè (founded in 1867 by Paolo Biffi, pastry chef to the monarch), the Savini restaurant and the Art Nouveau classic Camparino in Galleria.
We had ice creams at Biffi Caffé.
Then it was time to visit Teatro alla Scala, at Via Filodrammatici 2. La Scala abbreviation in Italian language for the official name Teatro alla Scala is an opera house in Milan, Italy. The theatre was inaugurated on 3 August 1778 and was originally known as the Nuovo Regio Ducale Teatro alla Scala (New Royal-Ducal Theatre alla Scala).
The Galleria is often nicknamed il salotto di Milano (Milan's drawing room), due to its numerous shops and importance as a common Milanese meeting and dining place.

"Fredericka carried a little pile of leaflets with the name Athens in full view and they walked into the Piazzale San Giornate and towards the wonderful lasade of the opera house, the Teatro alla Scala.
Inside, they joined a tour and admired the building; had the wonderful acoustics demonstrated to them; looked at the statues of Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti and Verdi in the foyer."
