Saturday 25 July 2015

We woke up in Milan. After the breakfast in Admiral Hotel Milan, we checked out and bought some snacks from Supermarket CS Supermercato Del Celiano, which is opposite Admiral hotel Milan. Then it was time to take a taxi and drive to Via Galvani 12, it was 15 euros. The distance from the hotel to Europcar was about 5 km. There we had a reservation for a car.

One of Europcar's office is in Via Galvani 12, Milan

We had rented our car 35 days before our trip and we were supposed to have Volkswagen Golf 1.6, but instead they gave us Toyota Auris Hybrid with air conditioning and price was 872,13 EUR for 8 days, including navigational system GPS and the Premium protection. That contains theft protection, collision and damage protection, personal accident protection (driver & passengers), windshield damage protection and tire damage protection.
While planning your trip you can see the distances and traveling time as well as calculate your toll chargers here:

During our trip we had lunch. Then direction towards Bologna and Parma and towards our next destination Carrara

Later we reached Carrara, which is a city and comune in the Province of Massa and Carrara (Tuscany, Italy), notable for the white or blue-grey marble quarried there. It is on the Carrione River, some 100 kilometres west-northwest of Florence. Its motto in Latin is "Fortitudo mea in rota" ("My strength is in the wheel").

We were supposed to have a guided Carrara Marble Tour (It is open every day from 10 to 16) but we never got there in time due to traffic, but we were able to take photos anyway.

Carrara Marble Tour offers a terrific off road 4×4 trip in the stunning scenery of the Carrara marble basins, where some scenes of the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" were filmed in 2008.

Later we arrived in Marinella di Sarzana, which is located in south-eastern Liguria, in the Province of La Spezia (SP) under the Municipality of Sarzana.

We left our car at the camping area opposite the hotel, then checked in.

Later we tried to find a nice place to have pizza, we found a pizza restaurant but they did not have pizza, only pasta. How bizarre is that! Later we found OPS Drinks E Kitchen (Via Litoranea, 23), they had tasty pizzas, 7,50 euros each.

Our 007 travel story continues, next stops La Spezia, Pisa and Talamone.
