"Live at Five" first publication: TV Guide (American edition). Running only a couple of thousand words, if that, it is a brief episode that sees Bond, en route to a date with a female TV news reporter, recalling how he once helped a Russian figure skating champion defect in full view of TV cameras. The reporter, Janet Davies, becomes the second real person to be a Bond girl, seen daily on Chicago's local ABC station Channel 7 WLS.

However, Live at Five was finally reprinted in the 2010 omnibus release, Choice of Weapons, which includes three additional Benson Bond novels.

Established by Auguste Escoffier, one of history's most influential chefs, The Ritz Restaurant is considered by many to be the most beautiful hotel dining room in the world and features towering marble columns, soaring floor to ceiling windows, vast kaleidoscopic ceiling frescoes, gilded neoclassical statues and a spectacular garland chandelier that envelops diners within a halo of light.

Afternoon tea price was £ 40 / person, (2010). Tea menu was extensive, two teapots, one for each as well as a 3-storey trey full of finest pastries and sandwiches.

”It had been several years since he had seen her. James Bond was surprised and happy to hear that she was in London. They agreed to meet at the bar in the Ritz Hotel, where she was staying…”

”The following three nights in Chicago had been intense. Even now, years later, he was still reflecting on the warmth in her blue eyes as he arrived at the Ritz Hotel for the rendezvous.

After parking the car, Bond bounded into the lobby and entered the bar. He looked around for his date and found her sitting alone in the corner, nursing a glass of wine. 

”Is this seat taken?” Bond asked her, indicating the empty chair beside her.

”Hello, my darling,” Janet Davies said dreamily. ”It’s been a long time.”
