007 Event: Bond girls are forever (20 August 2015)

What: Bond girls are forever

Where: Kino Victoria, Oslo, Norway

When: 20 August 2015

Bond girls head to Oslo on a mission to help the world's children

On August 20, seven of the most beautiful and glamorous James Bond ladies will be in Oslo for one unforgettable event entitled ‘BOND GIRLS ARE FOREVER’. The Bond Girls will bring classic charm and glamour to a 007-themed dinner and charity auction for UNICEF in the Kino Victoria, paired with an exclusive screening of the newly remastered 4K version of ‘THUNDERBALL’, fifty years after its original release in 1965.

Martine Beswick and Luciana Paluzzi, who both starred in ‘THUNDERBALL’, will be amongst the fabulous seven Bond girls. They will also bring along actresses Tonia Sotiropoulou from ‘Skyfall’, Maryam d'Abo from ‘The Living Daylights’, Carole Ashby from ‘Octopussy’ and ‘A View to a Kill’, Carey Lowell from ‘Licence to Kill’ and Britt Ekland from ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’.

“This is the first time these seven Bond Girls have been brought together”, says Morten Andreas Steingrimsen, initiator and Bond-enthusiast.

Steingrimsen promises that the Norwegian capital will notice that Bond’s ladies are in town. Their glamour, style and charm have captivated audiences decade after decade since the film franchise began in 1962. All based on the books of Ian Fleming.

“James Bond has class, and the event will reflect his style. Bentley Motors, Fleming’s choice of car brand for Bond in his novels, will display a selection of its contemporary models, representing the pinnacle of British motoring with the looks and power that you would expect in a 007 adventure. Breitling will display the original Navitimer wrist chronograph that Sean Connery wore in ‘THUNDERBALL’. For the event, the Swiss watch manufacture Breitling has also donated a Navitimer for a charity auction during the event”, says Steingrimsen.

Sir Roger Moore, who played British agent James Bond in no less than seven films, has long been an ambassador for UNICEF. The former 007 is a passionate advocate for children’s rights, and the proceeds of the auction will therefore go to UNICEF which is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation for children.

“In the books and films, one can get the impression that James Bond has nine lives. The rest of us only have one. UNICEF is grateful for this gift that will contribute to save lives and give all children a fair chance in life”, says Bernt G. Apeland, Executive Director of UNICEF Norway.

The exclusive evening will be complemented with gastronomic highlights worthy of the British secret agent, prepared by Dag Tjersland, one of Oslo’s top chefs. Expert bartenders from the Verité Cocktail Lounge will mix drinks of the 007 universe. Shaken, not stirred, naturally!

“I can promise an unforgettable evening, filled with James Bond style and glamour”, says Morten Andreas Steingrimsen.

Bond connection: A former army pilot, Bouvier works as a CIA informer, posing as a courier for drug lord Franz Sanchez. James Bond first witnesses Bouvier talking to Felix Leiter at the reception of his wedding, but she leaves before Bond can speak with her.

Leiter was thrown into a shark tank by Sanchez and Bond throws Killifer in the same tank, resulting in Bond being fired from MI6. After Bond steals $5 million from Krest, he sneaks into Leiter's office to find he had set a meeting at a bar in Bimini, she was disappointed in seeing Bond but soon trusts him. When Dario soon comes into the bar, she asks Bond if he has a gun, after seeing his Walther PPK, she shows him a shotgun which she soon uses to blast a hole in a wall before escaping on Bond's boat. She is soon shot, but is luckily unharmed because she wore a Kevlar vest. She agrees to help Bond track down Sanchez, playing herself off as Bond's executive secretary while he infiltrates Sanchez's operations. At the same time, she meets Colonel Heller to set up a deal granting him immunity if Sanchez is arrested.

Bouvier, with the assistance of Q, follows Bond and Sanchez to the Olympatec Meditation Institute, where Sanchez has taken Bond. Bouvier has made her way to the OMI by disguising herself as a student, she steals a key from Professor Joe and sneaks into the distribution centre where she shoots Dario and helps destroy Sanchez's drug convoy.
After dealing with Sanchez, Pam and Q go to a party with Bond at the drug lord's former residence. Pam sees Lupe Lamora and Bond kiss. Pam, always jealous of Lupe, runs down the stairs to the pool. James sees this, Lupe insists he stay with her. Bond, not wanting to break her heart, sets her up with a date with the El Presidente, he leaps off the balcony into the pool. He pulls Pam in the pool and falls back in love with her.
