Daniel Craig has signed up for a US TV series. He will star in Purity, which is set to run for several series of 20 episodes each.

Purity is based on the Jonathan Franzen novel. Daniel Craig will play charismatic German Andreas Wolf, who offers to help US woman Purity find her father.

The project, produced by Scott Rudin, is based on the book of the same name by The Corrections author Jonathan Franzen, published last September 2015. Todd Field is writing the adaptation with Franzen.

Written by Field, Purity was originally envisioned as a feature. The project is descried as a dark comedy. It centers on Pip, a young American woman who does not know who she is, and Andreas, a charismatic German provocateur, the role Craig is expected to play. He heads a South America-based organization that traffics in all the secrets of the world; Pip gets an internship there in search of her identity.

A spokesman for Daniel Craig insisted no firm decision has yet been made on his future as Bond.
