In Memoriam: Trevor Steedman

Trevor Steedman has passed away.

British actor and stuntman Trevor Steedman, passed away 25 June 2016 after suffering from his second stroke in two years. He was 62 years old.

Our deepest condolences!

He is best known to science fiction fans as Private Trevor Wierzbowski from James Cameron's 1986 sequel Aliens.

It is possible in summer 2016! Visit Schilthorn, Piz Gloria, which is a well known James Bond filming location of the film "On Her Majesty´s Secret Service" (1969), starring George Lazenby as James Bond.

to 14.00 h in the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant!

Birg cliff path THRILL WALK is on track

The Schilthorn Cableway Ltd is one-step further in the planning of a new attraction at Birg. On the new cliff path THRILL WALK guests will be able to enjoy a more intense mountain experience from summer 2016.

As part of the master plan 2013 - 2017, a new cliff pathway will be built next to the mid- station Birg. This leads from the Birg terrace down to the vertical walls of the imposing
rock massif. The 200-meter-long steel structured design clings to the rocks and then swings under the observation deck and below the cable car station. The cliff path will
include a variety of sections, an interplay of air, glass and grating. About 20 meters on a glass-bottom floor followed by 10 meters over cattle grid type of flooring. There is also an 8-meter Nepal bridge and an 8-meter-long crawling area for children planned. "The THRILL WALK will provide our guests with an even more intense mountain experience," promises Christoph Egger, director of Schilthornbahn AG.

The planned cliff path leads from the Birg terrace down to the vertical drops
of the awe-inspiring rock massif. An interplay of air, grating and glass
with special features. What an adrenaline rush!

Planning on track
The plans have been on public display, no complaints were formally submitted and the time
to lodge objections expired mid-January. "We assume that the building permit will be issued
in the coming weeks.“ said Egger. The plan is to start drilling on Birg after Easter, it is
expected to last throughout April. In May, follows the assembly of the support structure. In
June, the floors, railings and adventure elements are to be installed. "Our goal is to open the
new mountain experience THRILL WALK 2016 in time for the summer holidays." Christoph
Egger declared.

A model of the crawl-through tunnel for kids on THRILL WALK cliff path on Birg is being tested. It will be even more exciting when there is a 250 metre drop below.
