007 Food: Scrambled eggs with tomato juice

Food: Scrambled eggs with tomato juice
Bond book appearance: James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me
Experience of 007 Travelers: Self-made

Scrambled eggs is a dish made from whites and yolks of eggs (usually chicken eggs).
Eggs are cracked into a bowl, a little water and/or milk is added, and the mixture is whisked until it reaches a uniform colour. Then the mixture is poured into a saucepan over a low heat and continually whisked until there are soft curds that are slightly liquid. These are scrambled eggs.

"Bond took a taxi from the airport and checked in at the Nile Hilton on the island of Roda, stuck like a lozenge in the throat of the Nile. His suite was air-conditioned and functional, and a welcome escape from the hot sun that burned down outside. He took a cold shower, changed into a blue towelling dressing-gown and called room service for a long glass of tomato juice and a plate of scrambled eggs."

Christopher Wood:  "James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me"

Scrambled eggs is one of Bond's favorite foods in the books: He eats scrambled eggs at least in the following books: "Live and Let Die", "Doctor No", "Thunderball", "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", "Octopussy", "007 in New York", "James Bond, the Authorized Biography of 007", "Icebreaker", "Nobody Lives Forever", The Man From Barbarossa"  and "Zero Minus Ten".

Food: Karelian hot pot / stew

Experience of 007 Travelers: Savotta Restaurant, Helsinki, Finland

The Karelian hot pot (British) or Karelian stew (US) (Karjalanpaisti in Finnish) is a traditional meat stew originating from the region of Karelia (now split between Finland and Russia). It is commonly prepared using a combination of pork and beef, but lamb can also be used. Along with the Karelian pasties (Karjalanpiirakat), it is the most widely recognised Karelian food in Finland. In 2007, it was selected as the national dish of Finland by the readers of the Finnish tabloid Iltalehti.

"Bond drank quite a few shots and stated that the crowd started to look more cheerful. Birkin wanted to order traditional Finnish food – savoury pie, Karelian hot pot and reindeer tongue. The good side of the Finnish food is that it gives you guts. (Finnish “sisu”) It is needed in the place like this. It´s a shame that you won´t be staying longer."

Greek salad (Greek: χωριάτικη σαλάτα [xorˈjatiki saˈlata] "rustic salad" or θερινή σαλάτα [θeriˈni saˈlata] "summer salad") is a salad in Greek cuisine. Greek salad is made with pieces of tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onion, feta cheese, and olives (usually Kalamata olives), typically seasoned with salt and oregano, and dressed with olive oil. Common additions include the pickled leaves, buds or berries of capers (especially in the Dodecanese islands).

"Bond heard some noise from the kitchen. Soon Hera came back with a bottle of Taittinger, two glasses and two covered plates.
You open the bottle, and I put the plates ready, Hera said.
Bond rolled out of the bed and took the bottle. He opened it by popping the bottle cap to the ceiling.
He poured champagne into the glasses while Hera was setting the plates full of Greek salad, bread and cheese."

007 Drink: Mojito

Drink: Mojito
Bond movie appearance: Die Another Day
Experience of 007 Travelers: Sunset Beach Party, Singita beach, Fregenae, Italy

Traditionally, a mojito is a cocktail that consists of five ingredients: white rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime juice, sparkling water, and mint. The original Cuban recipe uses spearmint or yerba buena, a mint variety very popular on the island. Its combination of sweetness, refreshing citrus, and mint flavors is intended to complement the potent kick of the rum, and have made this clear highball a popular summer drink. The cocktail has a relatively low alcohol content (about 10 percent alcohol by volume).
